FCC Medio Ambiente, Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) and the General Union of Workers (UGT) sign an Equality Plan (#409)

Today, FCC, the General Union of Workers and Comisiones Obreras signed an Equality Plan, in force through 31 December 2012; it will be applied in all workplaces of the Environment division of FCC Services throughout Spain, as well as in all of this division's subsidiaries.
This Equality Plan was negotiated and signed with Spain's leading labour unions, under the Equality Law that was enacted last year; the plan consists of a "structured set of measures which will truly and effectively pave the way for the achievement overall, and in each individual company, of the objectives of equal treatment and opportunities for men and women, and eliminate any trace of gender discrimination".

FCC es la matriz de uno de los primeros grupos de la construcción y de servicios, tanto por volumen de cifra de negocios, como por rentabilidad. Su estrategia de crecimiento se ha orientado tradicionalmente hacia la diversificación, como lo demuestra el hecho de que, siendo originariamente una empresa de construcción, en 1911 inició su actividad en el campo de los servicios públicos con un contrato de limpieza y mantenimiento de la red de alcantarillado de Barcelona.
