FCC to manage the integrated waste management plant that it built in Valencia (#407)

FCC built the Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Plant in Las Cañadas, El Campello (Alicante), as part of the Valencia region Zone XV Waste Plan. Investment totalled 47.6 million euro.
The plant, which FCC will operate for 20 years, was inaugurated this morning; the contract includes management of municipal, garden and bulky waste, as well as the network of public recycling centres within the Plan's catchment area. This contract represents a backlog of 217 million euro.
The facility, which has been granted an Integrated Environmental Authorisation (IEA), has 34,000 sq metres of concrete surface area of and 20,000 sq metres of buildings. It will provide waste treatment, reuse and disposal services.
