Lilee Systems Selected as the Exclusive Communications System Provider for New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (NYMTA) Positive Train Control (PTC) Design and Deployment
Bombardier Transportation Picks Lilee Systems to Design, Build and Deliver End-to-End Communications Network
SANTA CLARA, CA, May 08, 2014 – Lilee Systems, the leading provider of advanced wired and wireless communication products, solutions and services for the transportation industry, has been selected as the communications systems provider for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (NYMTA) Positive Train Control (PTC) design and deployment. Bombardier Transportation, the systems integration lead for the project, awarded Lilee Systems the subcontract to design, engineer, manufacture, and deploy the end-to-end wireless and wired ACSES II communications system for the MTA Metro-North Railroad and MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) commuter lines.
Lilee Systems will be responsible for end-to-end ACSES II PTC communications performance, all 220 MHz RF (radio frequency) propagation analysis, measurement and implementation, RF interference mitigation, wireless and wired network planning, backup cellular and Wi-Fi communications, including the Lilee Systems CMU-2100 family of TransAir Communications Managers for all onboard, wayside and back office locations. The CMU-2100 family features integrated command, control, and information management for communicating critical PTC messaging with flexibility, precision, and efficiency.

The project will be delivered in two phases, with the initial 28-month Base Work to include system design, engineering, and prototyping, culminating in initial deployments on each railroad. Phase 2 will complete deployment of the equipment, with installation, testing, and commissioning oversight for both railroads.
Former United States Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta, board director for Lilee Systems, believes this project should be a model for other agencies charged with implementing PTC technologies.
